Cohasset Summer Wedding | Caitlin + Chris

I’ve been crafting this post in my head for a week or so now; there’s something about Caitlin and Chris that makes me want to lay out their whole life story here. Maybe it’s because I’ve actually known Caitlin for the past 10 years or so and I’ve watched her evolve into an incredible woman. Maybe it’s because during their engagement session we had the most fun ever with crazy squirrels. Maybe it’s because they drink whiskey, and I, too, drink whiskey. It might be because Chris is an only child, and Caitlin is one of nine, and watching the dynamics of this play out on their wedding day was incredibly fascinating. Or, maybe it’s just because I simply adore these two people and I was thrilled and honored to be able to witness and capture the amazing love, respect, and playfulness that they have for each other on their wedding day.

This wedding had pretty much every awesome thing a photographer could want to make magical photos. The entire day took place at Caitlin’s childhood home on the water in Cohasset, so there was an easy familiarity about every moment. Chris got ready in the carriage house where they live, while Caitlin looked through her mother’s jewelry box for a pair of earrings. The couple did a first look in the rose garden that was intimate and sweet, and we took photos in the yard where Caitlin’s nieces and nephews were playing. The four young ushers are the boys that Caitlin has been caring for for their entire lives, and their mother was one of the bridesmaids. The ceremony was on the dock at the end of the lawn, and afterwards good friends came and picked up the wedding party on their beautiful boat so that we could cruise around the harbor for a while. The tented reception was strung with hundreds of lights and instead of a wedding cake, Caitlin and Chris opted for two kinds of pie, which is genius. And, if you haven’t already seen my many posts about it, there was a TACO TRUCK. If you have a taco truck at your wedding, you are officially my favorite people in the world.

Chris and Caitlin, I am so excited to have made these pictures with you, and I look forward to hearing about all of the adventures your years together will bring. Happy love!

I love when couples do a first look, and this might be one of my favorites. The way Chris looks at his bride…goosebumps!!!!

This is David, the oldest of the brothers that Caitlin has cared for since they were babies, and this moment kind of broke my heart.

A big thank you to Nick and Heather for taking the wedding party out on the MOTU for a cruise around the harbor, and to John, Sarah, and Jen for allowing me on board the support boat so that I could shoot from the water!

Doing what she does best:

Hello gorgeous!!!
