For the past two weeks, Liza and Matt have been posting photos from their honeymoon trip to the Azores. I won’t lie; I really do think couples should consider taking their wedding photographer with them on their honeymoon (I won’t eat THAT much), but in this case, I think they did pretty well documenting the trip without me. I can only hope that these photos from their amazing wedding at the New Bedford Whaling Museum will soften the blow as they come back to reality and their lives in Washington DC.
Liza and Matt met in Boston and knew pretty instantly that they were meant to be together. They live in the capital where Matt is the Assistant Coach of the American University basketball team and Liza is a Registered Nurse, but they chose to get married in New Bedford where Liza grew up and where most of their family still resides. I met Liza a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid for another gorgeous LGP bride. Matt and Liza raised the bar again with their stunning wedding party (most of Matt’s groomsmen were 6’5″ or over!) and it was such a thrill to photograph them in the streets downtown. Liza absolutely radiates joy and had me laughing so hard during the First Look when she had to navigate some freshly discarded fish guts on her walk to see Matt. She also has the most kick-ass reception shoes of all time. The whole day was truly wonderful and I am so thankful that I was able to share it with them. A big thank you to Wayne for coming along and setting up some killer shots, and all of my love to Liza and Matt as they start their married life together! xoxoxox
