October 6, 2017
How is it already Columbus Day weekend? Most people who know me (or know any wedding photographer) know that October is the busiest month of the year for me; I tend to walk around all glassy-eyed, mumbling and weeping softly into my coffee. Every year I resolve to find a way to streamline the business and keep blogging through the madness, and every year I fail miserably. Rachel and Paul have been waiting patiently for this post for months, but they are both so kind and gentle that I’m sure they’ll forgive me.
The morning of their wedding dawned drizzly and foggy, and Rachel had pretty much resigned herself to rain throughout the day, but we got lucky and the sun was peeking through by the time everyone was headed to the church, and then came out in full for the wonderful reception at Chamberlain Farm. This was my first wedding at this venue, and I am in LOVE! Gorgeous flower gardens and one of the nicest staff I’ve ever worked with. There are so many fantastic little spots for photos, and we took advantage of many of them. Rachel and Paul are clearly so loved by their families and friends, and I loved hearing stories throughout the day. During their engagement session I asked them to dance a little for me, and it paid off! It was so fun to see this couple, who have been together for years, come together with everyone to celebrate. The topper was a fantastic fireworks display over the lake at the end of the night — a perfect send-off.
Thank you to Shannon for helping me out during the day, and my very best wishes to Rachel and Paul for an amazing life together. Happy love!
