Beautiful — Cohasset Senior Photography

Recently, I was discussing the “look” of senior photos with a few teenagers, and I asked them if they thought anything about today’s seniors will look dated in 30 years. Like this:

(It was the 80s. Mullets were very hip.)

The general consensus (wrong or right) was no, that today’s teens are less trendy and more classic. That senior photography has evolved beyond one outfit and two poses, so kids are more likely to let their real personality shine through, to be more authentic. That is certainly the case with Maddie, who showed up in a simple blue t-shirt and yet would have been perfect for a magazine layout. Sometimes when I hear the term “beautiful on the inside and out,” I wonder. In Maddie’s case, however, it’s truth. She is beautiful. She is kind. She is funny. She is nice to her mother. She laughed and played and did anything I asked of her, and she made this shoot one of my very favorites of all time. Classic.

These are the kind of eyes photographers dream about.

If you don’t know Maddie or her mom Lauren, you should. They are the kind of people that you want in your corner. I’m so happy that I got to hang out with them. Maddie already knows that she’s going to BU to play lacrosse next year — this is a girl with a big life ahead of her. I was honored to document these moments!
