I always ask my senior photo clients if there’s anything personal they want to incorporate into their shoot: a lacrosse stick, a guitar, a special piece of jewelry… Sarah’s answer was “books.” I’m sure you can imagine how happy that made me.
Sarah is a girl with many talents. She writes and curates for the blog of cupcakes and cap sleeves, she’s a dancer with the Boston Ballet, she sews her own clothes, and she’s an avid reader who works at the local library. We decided to start the shoot there, among the books she loves. She even brought some of her own; a few current favorites, and some gently loved and very old copies of Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters. We started among the art books, moved to biography, and finished up in periodicals, where Sarah wore one of the outfits she made herself. We ended the shoot at the beach, another of her favorite spots and a perfect place to catch the light in her gorgeous green eyes. This one was really fun 🙂
