Karolina was one of the first friends I made once I became a mom. Her son Nicholas and my boy Calder are just a few short months apart, and in those long early days of new motherhood, I spent many mornings in her kitchen, guzzling coffee and discussing strollers and preschools and diapers (and plenty of afternoons guzzling wine and discussing how ridiculous it was that we were worried about strollers and preschools and diapers…). Her daughter Natalia was the very first newborn I ever photographed. Her husband Greg is one of the nicest guys I know. I was so happy to send an afternoon with this beautiful, grown-up (!!!) family one afternoon a few weeks ago, and we had a really good time. I had been chatting with some other photographers that I was weary of yet another photoshoot at the beach; I had done so many in the previous weeks that I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to come up with something unique, but Greg and the kids solved that for me the moment they decided that it was perfectly acceptable to jump off of the rocks fully clothed. Mission accomplished.
My heart is full and I am thrilled to share these with you. Happy 14th Anniversary to Karolina and Greg — I’m so lucky to know you all! xo
