Jenna and Ross are married! — cape cod wedding photographer

A little while ago I posted Ross and Jenna’s engagement shoot and told you all about their happy family. Their backyard wedding on the Cape was truly one of the nicest, laid-back, friendly affairs I have had the privilege to shoot. When we arrived, the sky was threatening, but no one really seemed concerned including Jenna, who was still in pajamas and was making smoothies in her mother’s kitchen. Her kids Fiona and Jasper were giddy with the thought that there were going to be a whole bunch of people to play with, and it took me a while to actually coax out of Fiona what the big event of the day was. Finally, she yelled “there’s going to be a WEDDING!” and with that, we were off.

Jenna and Ross eloped last year; this ceremony was as much about the people in their lives as it was about them. Jenna’s parents (and hosts) welcomed the group and spoke briefly and warmly of those who were unable to be with them that day. Family and friends stood in a horseshoe surrounding the couple (including Jasper, who was not about to be left out of the proceedings, and the three family dogs) and extended their hands to join the entire group in Ross and Jenna’s marital fellowship.

The rain held off for most of the day and it was truly a family affair, with baby-wearing mamas (and dads) out on the dance floor and a whole mess of fun stuff for the kids. Ross and Jenna, I am so happy to have met you and your wonderful families, and I look forward to following your adventures!
