Ben & Lesley — Fruitlands wedding photographer

I met Ben and Lesley on a Sunday morning at Flour in Cambridge. A conservative estimate would be that there were 600 million people in there. Not the best conditions for showing a portfolio and discussing wedding photography, but after just a few minutes of sitting with these two wonderful people, it felt like we were the only ones in the place. They are both so sweet and down-to-earth and easy — it was just like hanging out with old friends. Lesley is a marathon runner who works at Children’s Hospital, and Ben is getting an advanced degree at MIT while he works at Raytheon. No slackers, these two.

They got married on the first day of September at Fruitlands in one of the prettiest ceremonies of the summer. The bridesmaids were so much fun and I want to be friends with every single one of them. The groomsmen too! I was fortunate to have the fantastic Johnny Arguedas along to second shoot for me, and everything was just perfect. Ben and Lesley did a First Look in a field of yellow flowers which just so happened to match the amazing wreath of flowers that Lesley wore in her hair. I kind of love her for those. One of my favorite First Looks ever…

First Looks mean lots of time with the Bride and Groom for photos — Johnny and I both got to play around with them.

The ceremony was also held in a field several hundred yards from the main building. The chuppah framed the incredible view of the rolling hills and open sky. Guest sat in chairs or stood in the shade of the trees while Ben and Lesley’s family participated in their celebration.
