I’ve been photographing Aubrey since she was only a few months old. When she was a little girl, she had a head full of blonde curls and the bluest of blue eyes (in a family where dark eyes seem to reign supreme, she broke the mold!). The curls may be gone, but those blue eyes are still as amazing as ever, as is the girl behind them. Aubrey is one of Calder’s ten cousins on his dad’s side; when she and her mom Patrice came to Massachusetts to visit colleges, they swung by so that we could all go to the beach and take some photos. It was such a wonderful night — talking about Aubrey’s plans to study early childhood education, reminiscing about how much fun we all had when the kids were young, and filling each other in on all the happy occasions since we last spent time together. Aubrey is bright and cheerful and a natural beauty who knows just how to be herself in front of the camera. Bonus points: when a brief shower blew through our shoot, the resulting rainbow seemed to point directly at her. Also, she was totally game when I screeched to a stop at the side of the road and demanded that she clamber over a cliff so that I could shoot her in front of that evening’s brilliant sunset. I think it was worth it 😉
Much love to Aubrey, Patrice, and the entire family. I’m so blessed to have you in my life! xox
